The GE Mark V remains one of the most widely deployed turbine control platforms in the power generation and industrial sectors. Introduced in the late 1980s, it brought Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR) architecture to gas and steam turbine management — a design so reliable that thousands of plants worldwide continue operating it today, decades after OEM production ended.

Because GE discontinued manufacturing of Mark V hardware years ago, maintenance teams face a growing challenge: keeping these systems operational without a reliable supply of tested, compatible spare parts. The Mark V uses a generation-specific hardware ecosystem — 531X-series control cards, DS200-series and DS3800-series boards, VME rack modules, I/O terminal boards, and power supply units — none of which are interchangeable with Mark VI or Mark VIe components.

When a card fails, even briefly, the turbine can trip. Finding a tested replacement quickly is critical to minimizing downtime and protecting revenue.
