This week, HHJ Bloom handed down judgment finding that the Home Office unlawfully detained the claimant for 2 weeks and breached their EU law rights over a period of just under 4 years. The award included findings of aggravated and exemplary damages, and was at the end of a three-day trial at the County Court at Central London. Appendix Long Residence The long residence route allows those who have 10 years of continuous lawful residence in the UK to apply for permission to settle. Provisions for this route were previously found within Part 7 and Appendix Continuous Residence of the Immigration Rules.
