AIIMS Patna is the vision of the Hon’ble ex-Prime minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee who decided to give to the nation six regional AIIMS with the mandate to provide the most modern healthcare to the last man in the queue at affordable cost. AIIMS Patna was created by the ordinance dated 16th July, 2012 and then the Act (Amendment), 2012 on 2nd July, 2013.

  • Under the leadership of Executive Director & CEO Prof. (Dr.) Gopal Krushna Pal, the Department of Community & Family Medicine, AIIMS Patna hosted a "#PledgeTakingCeremony" on #WorldNoTobaccoDay, May 31, 2024. Faculty, residents, students, and staff took the "No Tobacco Pledge." Dr. Pal emphasized the harmful effects of tobacco and the importance of cessation. The event featured talks on tobacco's health impacts, cessation methods, and the 2024 theme, "Protecting Children from Tobacco Industry Interference." Awareness activities, including competitions, talks, and role plays, were conducted throughout the week, culminating in a "No Tobacco Champion" award.

  • Under the guidance and supervision of Executive Director & CEO, Prof. Dr. G. K. Pal, #WorldEmergencyDay was celebrated at AIIMS Patna with great enthusiasm by the Department of Emergency Medicine on 27th May 2024. Prof. Dr. G. K. Pal assured world-class emergency services for all people at an affordable price at AIIMS Patna. He congratulated the head of the department, Dr. Divendu Bhushan, and his team for their persistent hard work, emphasizing that good intentions are essential to achieving best practices. Guest of Honor, Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh, IAS, Health Secretary, and Executive Director, State Health Society Bihar, congratulated the institute for its services and promised full support in building a resilient #Healthcarefacility in the state. He mentioned that good emergency services are a reflection of any hospital. The inauguration function was also attended by DDA Mr. Nilotpal Bal, Dean of Academics Prof. Dr. Ruchi Sinha, Medical Superintendent Prof. Dr. Anup Kumar, Faculty Admin Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, Dr. Ravi Singh (Director, Medanta Jay Prabha Hospital), Dr. Mukta Agarwal, Dr. Nishant Sahay, Dr. Deepak Kumar, Dr. Sunil Kumar, Dr. Pritanjali Singh, Dr. Prashant Singh, and other senior faculty members, staff, and students. On this occasion, a quiz program was conducted, in which undergraduate students participated with full energy. The winners received appreciation certificates and awards. Dr. Vishal Vaibhaw, Assistant Professor, presented the annual report of the department. The vote of thanks was given by Dr. Aaruni Rahul.

  • AIIMS Patna organized a #RetinoblastomaAwarenessDrive on May 18, 2024, in the OPD foyer to mark World Retinoblastoma Awareness Week. The event was led by the Departments of Radiation Oncology and Ophthalmology, under the guidance of esteemed Executive Director & CEO Prof. (Dr.) G.K. Pal, and supervised by Dr. Pritanjali Singh and Dr. Amit Raj. Dr. G.K. Pal emphasized AIIMS Patna's capabilities in retinoblastoma detection and treatment, while Medical Superintendent Dr. Anup Kumar and Dean (Academics) Dr. Ruchi Sinha stressed the importance of early detection and parental awareness of symptoms. Dr. Pritanjali Singh highlighted retinoblastoma's prevalence in India and the common symptoms, including a white pupillary reflex and misaligned eyes. Dr. Amit Raj advised parents to seek specialist advice if these symptoms are present. A street play led by Dr. Anil Kumar, featuring AIIMS Nursing students and staff, depicted retinoblastoma symptoms and was well-received. The event included participation from non clinical staff of different departments.

  • In the esteemed Presence of our Hon'ble Executive Director & CEO, Prof. (Dr.) G. K. Pal, alongside the Medical Superintendent, DDA, OSD to ED, and esteemed delegates representing diverse medical institutions, the Department of Emergency Medicine at AIIMS Patna successfully conducted the '2nd AHA Accredited #BLS & #ACLS Provider Course' to train the healthcare workers about #CPR, Basic life support and advanced cardiac life support on the 16th of May, 2024.

  • A meeting with the WHO-NPSN operations team was held today at AIIMS Patna, chaired by the esteemed Executive Director & CEO, AIIMS Patna, Prof. (Dr.) G.K. Pal. Representing the WHO-NPSN team were Dr. Tigran Avagyan (Country Team Leader for WHO-NPSN operations), along with Dr. Puneet and Dr. Ashish. The team conducted a thorough visit to the Microbiology and Pediatrics departments, highlighting the collaborative efforts in this multicentric initiative. They expressed extreme satisfaction with the work processes at #AIIMSPatna and assured future collaborative projects.
