ENGAGEMENT AND LEARNER ANALYTICS ARE KEY TO ONLINE LEARNING SUCCESS  For years, the popular narrative about employability of graduates from colleges, puts a the onus on the universities, the curriculum and its transaction in class, the background from where students emerge (especially in what are deemed at Tier III and Tier IV) institutions, etc. While this might have been true and relevant in 1990s and even in early 21st century, it can no longer be so. Today a range of technologies can make the entire learning space and learning ecosystem far richer. A teacher with average capability (in the 90s) would have struggled to make a class hour engaging. Today, the same teacher can use a bunch of handheld technology tools to make the learning and classroom interaction richer, and even profound. Yes… teaching or higher education is not a spectator sport. But engaging with each learner creatively by using tools such as WhatsApp, Google forms, or Instagram, a teacher can “flip the classroom” - Send reading material in short consumable nuggets to students. And use the class for expanding the understanding. Over a period, by using a mix of carrots and sticks, teachers can make the students engage with the learning as well as the content. Possible today. The prime example of these engaging use of technology are online degree programs offered by popular universities. Especially Universities that are supported well in business by online program management service providers. The number of learners in online degrees in India is growing and likely to accelerate further I the next few years. A key to this growth is creative use of technology that nudges the learners to do tasks, complete certain basic work or pass milestones – all backed by simple analytics of learner data. #onlinelearning #361online #onlinedegrees

It is a singular honour for all of us at 361DM and CL Educate to welcome, Prof S Sadagopan, former Director of International Institute of Information Technology, Bengaluru, as Chairman of 361DM’s Board.   A renowned academic, researcher, technology advisor for large organizations and government, and a  regular contributor to the media, Dr Sadagopan, had earlier taught at IIT Kanpur (1979-95) and IIM Bangalore (1995-99) as well as RUTGERS University, USA (1997) and AIT Bangkok, Thailand (1990). Dr Sadagopan has consulted/advised and served on the Board of some of the largest private, public-sector, and MNC corporations in India such as Tata Motors, Ashok IOC, BHEL, NTPC (Core sector) NSE, BoI, IoB, NPCI (BFSI); besides several technology and services industry organizations. A passionate teacher and strategic thinker, Dr Sadagopan says technology has several ways of impacting higher education. In fact, today it is easy to reach 100 % GER in higher education using right technology fused with the powerful elements of ancient and traditional learning systems of India. “Technology enabled us to move from 30 % of population holding bank accounts to mover than 80 % within a few years. Similarly, India did not even have 45 million telephone connections in 1992-93 and in the next 30 years, we have reached more than 100 % mobile connectivity. Technology made this possible.” This is the spirit he brings into 361DM-CL Educate. As stated by bnnbreaking.com …. “In a world inching closer to universal education access, this collaboration stands as a testament to the transformative power of strategic partnerships and visionary leadership…” This senior academic’s joining marks a significant endorsement of 361DM's mission and its impact on the future of online higher education. -
