    The India Staffing and Recruitment Market is projected to reach US$ 48.53 billion by 2030. Now that’s a huge number if you ask me. It was valued at US$ 18.06 billion in 2022. Workforce localization is taking the Indian recruitment space by storm. It is definitely increasing employability and reducing the country’s dependency on expat labor. Make in India initiatives have set the ball rolling for more GCCs and international companies to set up their manufacturing, R&D, Design, Software Development, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement base in India. This is a beacon of delight for every recruitment firm, partner, vendor and agency in the country. In August 2023, ~60k jobs were estimated to be created in the next ~12 months to meet the demands of leading mobile handset makers in the country. Now I know layoffs have been playing havoc on everyone's mind and it has not been easy to navigate them. Did you know, interestingly Hyderabad was the top recruiter for IT-professionals among all metros in India? We hired 23% IT professionals followed by Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, and Chennai. What does it mean for all recruitment agencies? (including mine) - We have to double down on sourcing candidates and go beyond traditional methods.  - We cannot rely on one source of hiring but must spread our expertise across.  - We are the extended arm for companies and we must act like one.  - There were ~23k agencies in 2018, the number has increased.  - We must push for skill-centric hiring over only degrees.  - The lull period is going to smoothen out soon.  - Pick up on Automation more than ever.  - Data is your only weapon today.  - High customer-centricity. But yes as an agency, I know my limitations and I am sure you do too. These are projected numbers, but the ground reality lies in working together with companies to fulfil requirements. We are working on building a diverse workforce in 2024. But it has to be an equal effort from both sides. Get your area of expertise in place and become a reliable and desirable agency partner for your company.     We are more or less familiar with ChatGPT now. Yet we are far behind in the best ways to utilize it for our benefit. Last year when I attended a workshop on ChatGPT in recruitment, it left quite an impact on me. It pretty much taught me how to create the use cases for myself and use it prudently. Now, I am no expert in this but here are a few prompts I have been experimenting with off-late. Let’s see if it helps you. ✓ Prompt 1: Write a note to the candidate who is about to join our company, make it a little funny, emphasis on the learning curve, our office culture, by the way, he is a cricket fan, use a few emojis ✓ Prompt 2: Write a short job description of a Recruitment Manager JD which speaks about the company culture, what is expected out of the role, growth and learning curve and some humor along with benefits. ✓ Prompt 3: Write a short email to a candidate telling them about the delay in the hiring process and to have patience while you get back to them in 2 weeks. Add a small note about the values of the company and how they respect their time for the interview. Add a little cricket humor 👉Understanding Job specifications/domain/technology: We all agree that JD speaks a lot of things that are non-mandatory and barely touched upon during the interview process and it also misses a few important ask by the hiring manager. Make it a quick read. 👉Writing an Attractive Job Description to attract great Talent: Though we have experienced most of the time that candidates do apply for a job only looking at the title and not the entire JD, it still remains important to have an attractive JD which speaks about the company culture, what is expected out of the role, growth and learning curve and some humor along with benefits. 👉Candidate Outreach and Engagement: It's time to get away from boring candidate outreach and engagement messages and time to get a little creative. We all have heard enough ‘I Will Get Back To You’ 😞. Being creative with prompts is key and can give your great results - Try it out and let me know your experience.     The 90-day notice period — an antiquated practice that still shackles the Indian job market. And then there’s the West, which enjoys a nimble 15-30 day framework. Companies seek quick hires within 15-30 days, yet we're anchored to a lengthy 90-day period that benefits no one. ✅ The 90-day notice is a financial strain for employees seeking new opportunities. ✅ Opting out early means paying up the remaining days – a heavy blow to one’s finances. ✅ Employees are trapped in a limbo of lost opportunities. ✅ No recruiter wants to wait 90 days, and candidates find themselves applying only when their notice period is nearly over. ✅ Employers are caught in this inefficient cycle, too. ✅ The long wait doesn't guarantee the candidate's joining, often leading to offer dropouts and a frantic scramble for backups. ✅ Immediate joiners are the holy grail, yet most are serving notice with an eye open for better offers. ✅ It’s a tightrope walk of negotiation for recruiters to secure a joiner. ✅ COVID-19 showed us the pitfalls of long notice periods, with employees left jobless as new offers were retracted amidst the crisis. ✅ A shorter notice period could have softened this blow. ✅ Companies want a fast onboarding process yet are bound by a protracted notice period that hampers quick transitions. So, where do we go from here? Do we continue to let the 90-day notice dictate terms, or do we advocate for a modernized, agile approach that aligns with current market dynamics?     Stress - Something You and I face every day. An iceberg of overwhelm A mental burden to ponder and dwell A rhythmic movement occupying the brain Making its home in sunshine or rain A problem surpassing time and space A solution that doesn't seem in sight How can you beat this monster dwelling in your head? How can you remove it despite all odds you've read? ✅ By Scheduling your work day better ➡️ Calendars come to your rescue for the better ✅ Get your body moving every morning without fail ➡️ Follow one physical routine that goes beyond sending mail ✅ Take short breaks to boost your productivity ➡️ Don't miss out on relaxing as an opportunity ✅ Take a short break every 6 weeks ➡️ Whether its a weekend or a random week ✅ Speak with your partner or friends as often as you can ➡️ Interacting with them helping ease the mental rant None of these are etched in stone. But they work if you give it a serious go. Times are a changing with stress hovering around. Through lay offs and work pressure, find a familiar sound. Letting go of things not in your control.
