🌱🤝🌍 The key to creating a decarbonized future is collaboration and strong partnerships because together, we can accelerate the actions needed to increase global energy efficiency. That is why Alfa Laval and ABB have joined forces to establish the Energy Efficiency Movement (EEM), a non-profit organization focused on energy efficiency and accelerating the implementation of energy-efficient solutions. ✨Recently, representatives from 70 countries from around the world gathered at the International Energy Agency (IEA) 9th Annual Global Conference on Energy Efficiency, held in Nairobi, Kenya. They all had a clear mission - to accelerate energy efficiency investment and technology deployment. Julien Gennetier, Vice President Energy Division, Alfa Laval, was part of our delegation at the conference. Here he shares his view on the developments in energy efficiency and how partnerships are the recipe for success! 🔋💡According to the IEA, we must double the global rate of energy efficiency improvements until 2030 to reach net zero by 2050. The necessary technology to do this is accessible, available, affordable, and ready to use today. Learn more about the Energy Efficiency Movement and join the mission. Together, we can pioneer positive impact! ➡️ https://lnkd.in/dcX8uXtC #AlfaLaval #PioneeringPositiveImpact #EnergyEfficiency #Partnership #SustainableFuture #EEM

🌊🔍 Look closer: Wastewater is a source of valuable resources! In Norway, something remarkable is happening along the banks of Oslo Fjord. As part of its wastewater treatment process, Sarpsborg Municipality recaptures and recycles nitrogen and phosphorus. These valuable elements, once lost in the flow, now find purpose. Alfa Laval’s advanced membrane bioreactor (MBR) technology will contribute to supporting the transition to a circular economy ♻️ in the water and wastewater sector. Did you know that high-tech resource factories can transform wastewater into energy, producing biogas and electricity? Not stopping there, they tackle microplastics and micropollutants, safeguarding our precious 🌏 planet. “What ends up on our plates is one of the most impactful choices we can make for the planet. Alfa Laval has a critical role in enabling foods with a lower climate impact and making those choices easier,” says Johan Agrell, Vice President, Next-Generation Food at Alfa Laval. As a leader in technology, Alfa Laval stands at the forefront of addressing one of humanity's most pressing challenges: sustainably feeding a growing global population. 🌱🌍 By 2050, the United Nations estimates a 70 percent increase in food demand. Meeting this need requires not just more food, but smarter ways to produce it—ways that minimize environmental impact while maximizing nutritional value. 📈 Alfa Laval is transforming food production through innovative solutions that optimize energy and water resources, increasing yields, and improve production processes. Our heritage of progress began in the late 1870s with our founder inventing the centrifugal milk separator, and it continues today as we collaborate with both emerging food startups and established brands. Together, we are developing the next wave of sustainable food options, including high-protein and low-climate impact alternatives. 🌿 From pioneering plant-based products to advancing fermentation techniques, repurposing food processing by-products, and exploring cultivated meats, we are committed to nourishing the future in every way we can. 🔬 Curious to find out how we are contributing to a more sustainable and efficient food system for future generations? 🌱 Embracing District Heating: A Key to #SustainableCities Development 🏙️ Watch the video to learn more about Anna Hall and Stanisław Zachara share the importance of #DistrictHeating and how collaboration and innovative business models can drive its adoption. District heating offers a scalable and efficient solution to one of the most significant contributors to carbon emissions—space heating and the heating of tap water. In the #EU, a staggering third of energy consumption is dedicated to these purposes, with a staggering 75% of that energy sourced from #fossilfuels. Despite its potential, district heating remains significantly underutilized across Europe, with adoption rates in countries like the UK, France, and Germany lingering at just 2%, 6%, and approximately 10%, respectively. The imperative to #reducecarbonemissions and reduce our reliance on fossil fuels is driving the exploration of alternative heating solutions. Fourth-generation district heating systems, characterized by their efficiency, flexibility, and integration of renewable energy sources, are revolutionizing urban heating landscapes. But the journey towards widespread adoption of district heating systems is not without its challenges. By working together, we can unlock the full potential of district heating and pave the way for a more sustainable urban future. Learn more about district heating: https://lnkd.in/gwriJfqW
