Ranging from food and clothes to toys, skin, and hair care products, we, the parents, want the best, purest of products for our children. We want products that are natural, organic, and free of harmful chemicals that might harm our children.

But how does one go about finding what is good for one’s child, especially when it comes to skin care products? There is such a lot of misinformation going around about such products. Many established brands claim to be the best for our children but are actually chemical-based products that can cause a lot of damage to the tender skin of our children. So what do we do?

Start by look at the ingredients of the product. Whether it is a bath lotion or a lotion to prevent nappy rash, ensure that it is free of long chemical-sounding ingredients. Look for assurance that the lotion protects the sensitive skin of infants. Additionally, it is not enough that the product is organic; it also needs to contain ingredients that soothe one’s skin. Some such ingredients are rice and almond, chamomile, and medicinal herbs like calendula. If the product is supposed to be used anywhere near your child’s eyes, be sure that it contains a no-tear formula that would prevent irritating your precious one’s eyes.
